Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Flovingo app and the website flovingo.com collect, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it. In this policy “Flovingo”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs the Flovingo app and website.

1. The short version

• We need your e-mail address to sign you in, and your voice recordings to give you feedback on your speaking.
• Only you can play your recordings in the app. With your permission, AI services transcribe and review them for your feedback; we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
• You can delete your account and recordings at any time, in the app: Settings → Delete account and recordings.

2. What we collect

Your account

Your e-mail address, which we use to send you sign-in codes, and basic account records: when the account was created, when your 7-day access period started, and whether the account is active. Sign-in codes are kept only until they are used or expire.

Your learning settings

Your first language, the language you learn, your level, the language of the app’s interface, and choices such as voices, how many words a session takes, and display settings.

Your recordings and what we make from them

When you answer a question, the app records your voice. We keep:

• the audio of each answer (“take”), on our servers and on your phone;
• measurements of your speech and pauses, calculated on your phone from the recording;
• a written transcript of each recording;
• the AI review of your answer (text only).

Your practice

The topics and texts you practise, the phrases you use, the words you study, your answers in exercises and when each word is due for review, and the minutes you have spoken.

What you add yourself

• Your own texts — the text you type or paste, the audio we generate from it, and translations of its lines.
• Scanned word lists — the photo is sent to an AI service to read the words; we keep the words that were read, not the photo.
• Reports you send about a word, and e-mails you send to support.

Purchases

If you subscribe, Apple or Google processes the payment. We receive the status of your subscription (product, renewal and expiry dates, store transaction identifiers) through a subscription-management service. We never receive your card details.

Your device and how the app is used

The app creates a random install identifier and sends it with its requests, together with the app version, the operating system and the interface language. The app also records events about its own use — for example that a step was opened or finished, or that an error happened. Our servers process your IP address to deliver the service and to protect it from abuse, for example by limiting sign-in attempts. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising tools.

On the website

flovingo.com uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. When you arrive through a link with a campaign tag, the website keeps that tag in your browser for the visit, so that a tap on a store button can be attributed to the link. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

3. How we use it

• to sign you in and run the app: lessons, recordings, feedback, your progress and history;
• to send you service e-mails — sign-in codes, and one notice before your free access period ends. We do not send marketing e-mails;
• to manage your access: the free period, subscriptions, and access granted by us;
• to answer your questions and reports;
• to keep the service secure and to apply fair-use limits;
• to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used and to improve it;
• to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use your recordings to train AI models.

4. How AI is used

Your recordings, your own texts and your photos are sent to the AI services below only after you agree in the app (“Your data and AI”). You can take that back at any time in Settings → Use AI; nothing new is sent after that.

• Your recordings are turned into text by a speech-to-text service.
• The transcript of your answer — not the audio — is sent to an AI language model, which writes your review.
• Translations of your own texts are written by an AI language model.
• Your own texts are read aloud by a text-to-speech service.
• Scanned photos are read by an AI vision model.
• The voices in the app are generated by AI, and the lessons are written by our team with the help of AI.

AI output can contain mistakes. It is feedback for practice, not an assessment. You can report a problem with an AI review from the app: we keep your report (the reasons you picked and anything you wrote) with that recording, so we can check it and improve the reviews.

5. Who processes your data for us

We use the following providers to run Flovingo. Each receives only what it needs for its task and processes it under its own terms for API customers. Which AI service writes reviews and translations can differ by language, so each one is listed.

These providers may process data outside your country.

6. How long we keep it

• Your account, settings, recordings, transcripts, reviews, your reports on them, practice and your own texts: until you delete your account.
• Sign-in codes: until they are used or expire.
• When you delete your account, everything above is deleted at once from our servers, the recording files right after, and the app removes what it kept on your phone. We also delete your customer record at our subscription-management service.
• What stays after deletion: usage events, which keep only the random install identifier and are no longer linked to you; words you added to the shared word list, without any link to you; and the purchase records Apple and Google keep under their own rules.
• Support e-mails: as long as needed to answer them and keep a record.

7. Your choices and rights

• Delete everything — in the app (Settings → Delete account and recordings), or by writing to us from your account’s e-mail address. See how account deletion works.
• See or correct your data — your settings are in the app; for anything else, or for a copy of your data, write to us.
• Microphone, camera and photos — the app asks for these only when you use them, and you can turn them off in your phone’s settings. Without the microphone you cannot record answers.
• Website cookies — block or delete them in your browser.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to a data-protection authority. Write to us and we will help.

8. Children

Flovingo is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are between 13 and 18, use Flovingo with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Everything between the app and our servers travels encrypted (HTTPS). A recording can be played only by its owner, through links that expire within hours. Access to our servers is limited to the people who run them. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you.

10. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or by e-mail before it applies.
