1. INTRODUCTION

Flovingo ("App," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our App. By accessing and using Flovingo, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this entire Privacy Policy.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Email Address (Optional)

When you choose to log in with an email address, we collect your email address to enable authentication via magic link login. Email addresses are optional—you may use Flovingo as a guest user without providing an email address.

2.2 Username (Optional)

You may optionally provide a username in the App settings to personalize your user profile. This field is not required, and you may use the App without providing a username.

2.3 Learning Progress Data

We collect data related to your learning activity within the App, including:

  • Vocabulary selections and answers
  • Lesson completion status
  • Learning progress and achievements

This learning progress data is stored on our servers to enable you to access your progress across sessions.

2.4 Payment Information

If you purchase a subscription through the App in the future, payment processing will be handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not directly collect or store credit card or payment method details. Payment processing is governed by the privacy policy of our payment processor.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

3.1 Email Address

  • To authenticate your account and enable login via magic link
  • To send you notifications about your learning progress (if you opt-in to such communications in the future)
  • To inform you about new features, updates, or important changes to our App
  • To respond to your inquiries and support requests

3.2 Username and Learning Data

  • To provide personalized learning experiences
  • To track and display your progress within the App
  • To help you continue learning from where you left off

3.3 Device Information

  • To improve App performance and stability
  • To diagnose technical issues and errors
  • To understand how users interact with Flovingo

4. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES

4.1 No Third-Party Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any other third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purposes. Your data is not shared with analytics companies, data brokers, or external services beyond what is necessary for App functionality.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users.

5. DATA RETENTION

5.1 Email Addresses

Email addresses provided for login are retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, your email address is permanently deleted from our servers.

5.2 Usernames

Usernames are retained as long as you choose to keep them in your settings. You may delete or change your username at any time within the App settings.

5.3 Learning Progress Data

Learning progress data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion or data deletion request, all learning progress data is permanently and completely removed from our servers within 30 days. No learning progress data will be retained after account deletion.

5.4 Account Deletion

When you delete your account through the app (Settings > Delete Account) or request account deletion through our support team, all associated data will be permanently and completely deleted immediately. This includes:

  • Email address
  • Username
  • Synchronized learning progress
  • All user preferences and settings
  • All account-related data (user learnings, word learning history, etc.)
  • All personal information
  • All local data stored on your device

The deletion process removes your data from both our servers and your device (local SQLite database). No data will be retained. All information associated with your account will be permanently deleted with no exceptions. Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

6. USER RIGHTS AND CONTROLS

6.1 Access and Modifications

You can access and modify your email address and username at any time through the App settings.

6.2 Data Deletion

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. To delete your account:

  • In-App Deletion: Navigate to Settings > Delete Account. You will be shown a confirmation dialog with a warning message. Once you confirm, your account and all data will be permanently deleted immediately from both our servers and your device.
  • Contact Support: You can also request account deletion by contacting our support team at team@flovingo.com or through the Help & Feedback section in the app.

When you delete your account through the app, the deletion process includes:

  • Immediate deletion of your account from our servers
  • Automatic cascading deletion of all related data (user learnings, word learning history, preferences, etc.)
  • Clearing of all authentication tokens
  • Deletion of all local data stored on your device
  • Reset of all app state and preferences

No data will be retained - all information associated with your account will be completely and permanently removed with no exceptions. The deletion is immediate and irreversible.

7. SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Flovingo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information and terminate the child's account. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to Flovingo, please contact us immediately at the email address provided in the Contact Us section.

9. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of Flovingo following the posting of revised Privacy Policy means that you accept and agree to the changes. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
